Turns out I quite like being creeped out

Instagram is a great platform for artists to showcase their work, which in turn is how I stumbled across Felix’s work. Initially, I was drawn to his photos by their almost distressing nature. Always dark and with an extremely sombre feel, his pieces often involve a figure looking particularly pained and disturbed. Now, I understand his work isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, however, I personally enjoy the mysterious element that’s flows throughout all of his pictures, providing a breeding ground for many different opinions and ideas as to their meanings.

‘Emotional Prey’

Spanish photographer, Felix Velvet (cool name, right) has always loved experimenting with photography and truly has confidence in the saying that a picture paints a thousand words, believing photos can convey complex feelings. He, in turn, describes the purpose of his work as simply to convey an emotion to his audience that may otherwise be extremely difficult to express through written words. This translates to his work which can often be viewed as shocking and, in some circumstances, terrifying; to which he believes, emotions truly often are.

Frankly, his work cannot be explained any better than by the artist himself.
