Bite Sized Horror

Over here at VinylOctopus we love a good horror. But we’ve found recently, the horror genre on the whole to be a little lacklustre, with some exceptions (that being the Conjuring 2 for me). However most appear to follow a very similar story (usually involving some kind of ancient demon). Subsequently, we’ve turned to the horror shorts….

Horror shorts have fast become a genre in their own. They allow the watcher to be become spooked quickly without long backstories or any filler material as they’re often straight to the point. So today we thought we’d share some of our favourites with you all.

Our first one to showcase to you all is 2AM: The Smiling Man…

There’s not much to say about this one so we’ll just let you watch it and work it out for yourself.

Our next one is Lights Out. Now this one may sound familiar to you all as this short then went one to become a major full length film. However, I still enjoy the simplicity of the original concept.

Finally our last one is Bedfellows. This one, personally for me, is the best. Short, simple and terrifying. The setting and story make it unnervingly relatable…

Now we know this is nowhere near a comprehensive list of the best but we’d love some recommendations if you have any…

What did you think about the ones we chose, were you enthralled?
